A boy and his dog

Is it just the classic story or is Julian's Notebook a window into modern childhood? This story clearly revolves around a boy named Julian and a boxer puppy named Romeo who taught us all how to work things out, but it's much bigger than that. It is the story of the many many kids who find the connection they need by relating to their pup. The life lessons they learn and struggles they face communicating with a dog play out in the real world, in their relationships with us crazy adults.

I met Julian, his mother Chandra and their puppy Romeo fairly early in my career as a dog trainer. We have spent many hours walking on the beach, hiking in the mountains or just sitting around watching TV. All looking in the general direction of Romeo.

What I have learned from Julian has helped shape me as a person and given me my signature as a dog trainer.
I work with kids who belong to a dog.

Community

As Chandra and I pondered how to tell this story one idea seamed unavoidable. We are a community. Romeo brought us together around our concerns for a little boy and through this experience we have formed a bond that benefits us all; Julian, Romeo, Chandra and me, the dog trainer.

Julian

Kid's POV

This page willo have a description of the project. a quad of photos with a brief of 4 POVs: Trainer, julian, Mom and Romeo. maybe each would have a link to a longer story from each POV.
Then a link or followed on the same page with a blog of kid/dog videos. These could be a subset of the Daily Dogma Blogs that just pertain to the kids project.
I think the photos can be links.

You'll get to meet Julian and Romeo (in a virtual sort of way) and get a glimpse of all the cool stuff we have done together. The things I've learned from him and the stuff he's learned from me. Then all the stuff Romeo has had to put up with. You will also get to meet Julian's mom and see it all from her POV.

Check back soon.
